1. Introduction
Welcome to MyCVTools ("Company", "we", "our", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website https://mycvtools.com, including any other media form, media channel, mobile website, or mobile application related or connected thereto (collectively, the "Site").
Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the site.
2. Privacy by Design & AI Analysis
Our core philosophy is "Privacy by Design." MyCVTools is built to function with minimal data retention. Most of the heavy lifting, including CV parsing and initial analysis, happens locally in your browser. When you use our "Screener" or "Optimizer" tools, your data is processed as follows:
- Transient Processing: Your CV and the job description you provide are sent to our secure API endpoints.
- Third-Party AI: We utilize OpenRouter as our primary AI gateway to access advanced language models. The data is sent securely to these models for analysis.
- No Persistent Storage: We do NOT store your resumes, CVs, or personal identity documents in any permanent database. Once the AI analysis is returned to your browser, the transient data is purged from our server memory.
3. Information We Collect
Personal Data
We do not require you to create an account to use MyCVTools. However, the CVs you upload may contain personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, and professional history. By uploading these documents for analysis, you consent to the transient processing of this data.
Derivative Data & Analytics
Our servers automatically collect information when you access the Site, such as your IP address, your browser type, your operating system, your access times, and the pages you have viewed directly before and after accessing the Site. We use Vercel Web Analytics for this purpose to help us improve the user experience.
4. Use of Your Information
Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the Site to:
- Generate AI-powered resume match scores and analysis.
- Optimize the performance and security of our Site.
- Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve your experience with the Site.
- Respond to customer service requests and support needs.
5. Disclosure of Your Information
We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations. Your information may be disclosed as follows:
- By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others.
- Third-Party Service Providers: We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, including data analysis (OpenRouter/AI Models), hosting services (Vercel), and customer service.
6. Security of Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you transmit to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.
